Support for Ubuntu 10.04 running out today

The LTS release 10.04, named Lucid Lynx will not be supported with updates or fixes as of today, 2013/05/09. Thus the last release supplying the users with the GNOME 2 desktop reached its end of life.

What do you think, will this cause some of the users to switch to Xfce to get a gnome-ish interface at least or will they rather stick with the new Unity interface?
Did you, by any chance, come to use Xfce because you didn't like Unity (given that you are or where an Ubuntu user)?
Or will this rather not have any visible effect on the Xfce desktop?
